Blogging about suicide risk assessment and prevention

I have created an About this blog page to describe the purpose of this blog. I will be inviting colleagues to view this blog once the infrastructure is a little more mature.

  1. This is a fascinating account of your development as an expert on risk assessment. I think you have a real opportunity to bring systemic understandings to this important area. Suicide is usually not an intrapsychic event; it is an interpersonal statement. Multi-deteremined. But we have little in the way of understanding that process, and little evidence to guide us in supporting and healing those who are left behind when suicide is successful.

As one of your colleagues, I look forward to learning your future thoughts as you bring your family therapy training to this new and important area of study. Susan H McDaniel PhD, Professor of Psychiatry & Family Medicine, U of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry

  2. Thank you for your encouragement, Dr. McDaniel.
